Two men arrested after attempted murder in Stamford
The victim is in a serious condition in hospital
Two men have been arrested in connection with an attempted murder that took place place in Stamford on Tuesday (February 21st).
Police were called to Stamford bus station at around 10:15pm after a fight broke out between people in the station and two cars parked outside. The altercation then moved onto the street.
When officers arrived at the scene on St Peter's Hill, they found a man in his 20s suffering from multiple stab wounds. Other people involved in the fight then fled the scene once police arrived.
The victim is now in a serious condition in hospital and a police investigation into the attack has been launched, believing that it was an attempted murder.
Following enquiries, Lincolnshire Police arrested two men in connection with the incident - one on suspicion of attempted murder and the other on suspicion of affray.
St Peter's Hill currently remains closed to the public whilst the police carry out their investigation. Police are also asking people to stop speculating on social media whilst the inquiry takes place.
Police believe that the people involved in the fight were known to each other, and are appealing for witnesses to piece together what happened.
