Concerns have been raised over the number of collisions and deaths on Lincolnshire's roads which involves young people

Those aged 25 and under feature in almost a third of all road traffic collisions in the county over the last 5 years

In the majority of cases they're the driver.

With many fatalities happening on rural roads, people are being encouraged to drive to their own personal limit rather than the speed limit.

Black boxes or graduate driving schemes are being considered as options to help reduce the number of fatalities amongst young drivers.

We've spoken to Simon Outen Coe from the Lincolnshire road safety partnership about the issue and his advice.

Can you stop safely if there is a tractor doing 20mph and you’re doing 60?

He said: "The important thing is we should always drive to the conditions of the road in front of us, regardless of its quality, regardless of what it is."

"Drive in what you consider to be safe."

"Just bear in mind, you come around a corner, what’s around that corner."

"Can you stop safely if there is a tractor doing 20mph and you’re doing 60 ?”

“If you’re out with your peers, don’t be forced into situations you’re not comfortable with."

"It's not worth showing of to any friends you have in your vehicle, so it’s around your personal behaviour."

"Recognise your limitations, we all have them and there is nothing wrong with that, and we need to just recognise where we are with our skill set at any particular point.”

"I think one of the things I would really encourage youngsters to do is to access further training, particularly hazard perception."

"It is incumbent upon all of us to challenge when appropriate, to ensure not only our own, but our loved one’s safety and the safety of other road users”
