After nearly 3 weeks on the run, a much loved wallaby has been returned to a farm in Bourne.

Ant, who usually spends his days with his pal Dec at Tony Steps Petting Farm, managed to escape from his enclosure on 5th January.

The RSPCA, with the help from local volunteers, have tried several techniques to capture the mischievous marsupial, including using humane traps.

The recovery team had no luck with the traps over the last two weeks, with concerns they were too small for Ant to fit into.

But after setting up a larger trap, the team were over the moon to find Ant safely in the cage on Sunday morning (23/1).

On its official Facebook page, the farm said: "Ant is finally home, safe and sound! While checking the feeding stations this morning, Ant was found in the cage, very calm and not particularly phased by it."

"Our vet is attending to check him over as a precaution, just to make sure he is fit and healthy, but he is happily sitting in his shelter.

"Another massive thank you to all of the local residents who have shown love and support, and helped to get our boy home safely. You all know who you are."
