Residents against plans of a new care home in Bourne are able to voice their concerns at a public consultation event.

It's after many people were worried about the impact the homes access route.

Access through Coriander drive is totally inappropriate

LNT Care Developments are seeking permission from South Kesteven District Council to build the 66-bedroom care home.

It is proposed to be built in Tarragon Way.

However, the planned main access to the home is through Coriander Drive.

Many people have opposed the plans and say the roads are too narrow.

There are also concerns about the impact on traffic and parking in the area.

There's a risk to health and safety

Matthew Barber, a resident in the area, said:

"Access through Coriander drive is totally inappropriate."

"There's definitely a risk to health and safety and parking."

"Parking is already very tight around the estate. There has been accidents already on those roads."

"The concern is if the care home is built, there's probably not enough parking in their plans to provide parking to staff, visitors, and emergency services."

"I think there is a lot of momentum to getting the access changed."

"I haven't heard anybody that's in favour of it at the moment."

Aiming to alleviate concerns

The public consultation event will be held on Thursday November 21st between 12pm – 6pm.

Jo Kemp, Senior Planning Manager at LNT Care Developments, said:

'After receiving a number of comments and questions from local residents and neighbours concerning the proposed care home development, LNT have organised a public consultation event which all neighbours and local residents are welcome to attend.'

'Members of the LNT team will be on hand to answer any questions and explain more about who we are and the work we do.'

'We look forward to welcoming members of the local community and hopefully alleviating any concerns.'
