A Peterborough pet has won the title of Britain's ugliest dog
Muppet won it with his missing teeth and a tongue that is permanently stuck out
A pet in Peterborough has been named Britain's ugliest dog.
Muppet, a Chinese crested, won the title this weekend in a competition that searches for the ugliest dog in Britain.
All my dogs are a little bit wonky and a little bit different
He won the title his missing teeth and a tongue that is permanently stuck out.
The pooch won against seven other dogs.
The competition was organised by photography company Parrot Print and the final was live on ITV's This Morning show.
He follows in the footsteps of his brother, Mugly, who won the world's ugliest dog in 2012.
Bev Nicholson, Muppet's owner, said:
"Muppet is a rescue dog. I've got his sister as well, and he was returned to them, so it was ideal that he came to live with me, and he's back with his sister."
"All my dogs are a little bit wonky and a little bit different."
"I like the underdog. I like a dog that's a bit different."
"I think Chinese crested dogs are a little bit daft. They're funny and amusing and keep you occupied."
"He's got a funny character, but he's misunderstood by some people because he's a bit anxious."
I like the underdog
Muppet received his prize of a pamper session at a dog spa and a Christmas-themed photoshoot.
Last year's winner, Peggy, became a household name and featured in the Deadpool & Wolverine film released this year.
