A disqualified driver who crashed his van while drunk has been jailed.

Silian Tudor was involved in a collision with a car in Lincoln Road, Millfield, Peterborough, on 2 October.

The 37-year-old was arrested after he failed a breath test and blew 74 in custody – the limit being 35.

Despite initially giving officers false details, Tudor, of Lincoln Road, Peterborough city centre, was identified in custody and checks found he was disqualified from driving until September next year.

He admitted drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (3 October) where he was sentenced to eight weeks in prison and ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge.

Tudor also had his existing driving ban extended by three years, meaning he is now disqualified until September 2028.
