A charity in Rutland are offering a wellness course to reduce stress ahead of the festive period.

Pepper's '5 Ways to Wellness' course, ran by Leicestershire County Council, aims to help improve wellbeing and provide tools to help people when they're struggling.

The course will show the benefits of the five ways to wellness, talk about mindfulness and self-care, and provide ideas on how to look after your well-being.

Helen, Oakham Pepper's manager, said:

"Hopefully we can give people some tools that they can use throughout this period."

"It might be a bit lonely for people, people have loses and grief."

"This will set them up and give them tools they can use anywhere."

"We will just be highlighting things you can do to help yourself and put into practice."

The course will take place between 10:30am and 12:30pm on Wednesday 17th December.

Andrew, who regularly attends the drop in sessions at the charity and plans to attend the course, said:

"When I'm at home on my own and I'm away from people, I don't like to ring them and burden them."

"I think the course will be beneficial for me and a lot of people because it can help with your anxiety."

The Oakham Branch are running a variety of activities alongside the course to support wellness.

They run a craft café, mindful tai chi, a wellbeing garden and mindful and meditation sessions.
