Stamford is celebrating world music, food & drink and street art today with their annual diversity festival.

The aim of the day is to make Stamford & the surrounding areas inclusive and welcoming for all.

This years line up includes Latino Sound, King Don Steel Drums and Muha, FYI Reggae, Taoreta and Gabriella Pineda Rodrigues who is officially kicking off the festival with a song alongside local rapper Xidus Pain.

The day of celebration has been made possible thanks to SK Community Fund & STC.

Yvette Diaz-Munoz Chair, Stamford Diversity Group said:

"We found that locally people respond better to a celebratory approach. If we want to eradicate prejudice and make people of different ethnicities, nationalities and more recently that includes the Ukrainian community then the way forward should be celebratory."

They will also be raising money for the frontline in Ukraine:

"We've done a couple of smaller pop up events to raise money for the frontline because it's really important to get funds out there for medical supplies alongside humanitarian aid."

The event is running on Monday 28th August from 11am-6pm at Stamford Recreation Ground.
