23-year-old stroke survivor from East Midlands says 'anyone of any age can be affected'
She now lives with constant double vision
A young woman who suffered a stroke at just 23-years-old is sharing her story to highlight how anyone of any age can be affected.
Figures announced yesterday reveal there are almost 40 hospital admissions in the East Midlands alone each year involving people aged between 18 and 26.
Kate Rowlson first noticed something was wrong on holiday last year - and had to wait a month before she was properly diagnosed.
She now lives with constant double vision and tell us people are in disbelief when they learn she's a stroke survivor.
"I've kind of had to carry on with life - because it doesn't just stop just because your life is falling apart.
"I grieve who I was all the time. It's been tough. I've lost huge amounts of confidence.
"I'm on medication for the rest of my life - which is something I've had to accept."
