200 tonnes of straw caught fire in Peterborough
Firefighters were at the scene in Yaxley all night to make sure the fire did not spread
On Saturday 31st August, firefighters were called to an area in Yaxley where around 200 tonnes of straw had caught on fire.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service say that the straw alight was close to another 500 tonnes of straw, so officers stayed all night to keep the area safe.
The crews were still there on the Sunday morning.
The advice to people in the surrounding areas is to keep their windows shut if they are impacted by smoke.
