The Stamford man running 108 miles for girl undergoing life-changing surgery
The finish line's in sight for Will Fry, who began his mission on Monday
A man from Stamford is four days into his 7-day running streak supporting a little girl undergoing potentially life-changing surgery.
Thea Williams was born 7 weeks early, along with her twin brother Arlo and, after being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, she's been unable to walk without an aide.
But, after her imminent operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital, it's hoped she'll be able to walk - but not before intense physiotherapy and time in a wheelchair.
To help her in her recovery by raising funds for various forms of therapy, equipment and home adaptions - Will Fry has been running a 15.5-mile lap around Rutland water every day since Monday (25th), and will continue to do so until Sunday.
A cross-county effort
He's almost raised £3,000 for Thea's recovery, while local communities in Stamford and Thea's home village Uffington have been pitching in too.
'Thea's parents live in Uffington which is a great community, there's a lot of support from a local school she's at there and also everyone in the village', Will said.
'The Toby Norris pub in Stamford, where I used to be landlord, they're donating an amount for every pizza they sell in the next two weeks, they're going to donate that to the charity - and the King's Head pub in Stamford - they're doing a deal that when you come to pay at the end of your meal you can donate to the charity.'
'Amazingly some of the money will go to the charity, and some will go into a fund for me to have a beer at the end of it - and whatever money is in the charity fund the pub will then double it.'
