Relief as Lincolnshire coronavirus rates go down
They were among the highest rates in the country a few weeks ago
Covid 19 infections across Lincolnshire have fallen, after the county saw some of the highest rates in the country just a few weeks ago.
Cases of the virus are now at 335 per 100,000 of the population.
That's slightly above the national average but it has been much higher in the county.
The biggest number of infections are now mainly amongst young people who either haven't had a vaccine at all or have yet to get their second dose.
Lincolnshire's health bosses say the decrease is a "relief".
Derek Ward from Public Health says it may be partly down to them working closely with pubs, clubs and restaurants to reduce rates.
That's included giving out tests.
Meanwhile he says that the current highest rates in the county are in tourist hotspots where there are a lot of pubs and restaurants.
