A 22 year old man has died following a collision between two vehicles in the city.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tuesday October, 26 in the afternoon.

The road was closed for seven hours while investigators examined the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police have issued an appeal for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to contact them.

"Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A38 in Plymouth yesterday 26 October in which one man died.

"Officers were called at 2.15pm after the collision involving a blue Mazda MX5 and a stationary Scania lorry in a layby on the A38 northbound just before Manadon.

"The driver of the car, a 22-year-old local man, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

"Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the scene along with South West Ambulance Service and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

"The carriageway was closed for around seven hours for a forensic examination of the scene and the recovery of the vehicles.

"Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They would also like to hear from anyone with relevant dash cam footage.
