Young child and two others seriously injured following crash on A38 near Exeter
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage
Police are appealing for dashcam footage after a crash on the A38 in Devon left three people seriously injured, including a young child.
The young casualty had to be transferred to Bristol Children's Hospital after two cars collided at Haldon Hill.
Officers say a Porsche Boxster and Volkswagen Golf were involved and both vehicles left the carriageway.
A total of four people were taken to hospital, including the three who were seriously injured and another driver.
The collision happened on Thursday afternoon and closed the road for seven hours.
Devon and Cornwall Police rushed to the scene shortly before 4.30pm, along with firefighters and paramedics.
Police have posted the following appeal on social media: "Police are appealing for information following a collision on the A38 in Exeter on 30th December which left three people, including a child, seriously injured.
"Officers were called around 4.20pm following the collision between a Porsche Boxster and a Volkswagen Golf on the northbound carriageway at Haldon Hill.
"Both cars left the carriageway as a result of the collision.
"Three people in the Volkswagen Golf were treated for serious injuries and taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
"One of the occupants, a young child, was later taken to Bristol Children's Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
"The female driver of the Porsche also sustained injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.
"The ambulance and fire services attended the incident.
"The A38 was closed for seven hours for a forensic examination of the scene to take place and for the vehicles to be recovered.
"Officers from the Roads Policing Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and asking for any witnesses to contact them.
"They are also keen to receive any relevant dashcam footage.
