The new almost six-million pound Health and Wellbeing Hub at Plymouth Marjon University will open in September.

The refurbished building - which is on the University's campus - will boast a 'simulation hospital ward' as well as augmented and virtual reality spaces.

It will serve as a state-of-the-art home for Marjon’s health and wellbeing courses and community health clinics, marking a significant milestone in the University’s commitment to healthcare education.

It's all happened thanks to a £5.8 million grant, which has unlocked the transformation of an existing building into a modern, cutting-edge facility that brings together a range of health and wellbeing courses - and community health clinics - all under one roof.

Bosses are calling it a 'cornerstone' of Plymouth Marjon University’s 2030 Strategy, which aims to expand healthcare education and address regional workforce needs as part of its Place and Social Purpose goal.

Professor Claire Taylor, Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth Marjon University, said: “The Marjon Health & Wellbeing Hub represents our commitment to providing students with the most advanced resources and technology available.

“By integrating learning and practice, the Hub will enhance the educational experience for our students and ensure they are well-equipped to meet the growing needs of healthcare across the region.”
