Weather warnings set for Plymouth
Heavy rain is set to batter the city until 10.00am, before thunderstorms start at midday
A yellow weather warning remains in place for Plymouth, as another one is set to hit the city later.
The Met Office say the warning for rain will end at 10.00am this morning (28 June), before one for thunderstorms comes in at 12.00pm today.
Multiple flood alerts are in force across Devon too: including the River Teign area and rivers in Exmoor.
What to expect?
- Spray and flooding will lead to difficult driving conditions and perhaps some road closures
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- There is a small chance of fast-flowing or deep floodwater
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
