The group behind the Teignmouth Airshow say the need £20,000 by Thursday to save this year's event - which will see a performance by the RAF Red Arrows.
They have until this Thursday to commit to the aircraft and insurance they need to safely go ahead - and are urging people to support them via this GoFund Me link
The display is the largest free event in the town's calendar and took place for the first time in 2019 - before being postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic - with a date of Saturday July 2nd set for 2022.
A spokesperson for the airshow last night took to social media to warn: "Teignmouth Airshow committee have tonight had a very difficult financial meeting.
"We are unfortunately looking at a deficit of £20,000 to be able to safely hold the event. We have until this Thursday to commit to the aircraft and insurance, and as such are facing a heart-breaking decision.
"We are appealing to the local public and businesses to help us pull this off. We are a team of volunteers who meet every week to organise and fundraise for this event and for the first time are feeling very deflated and unsure of where to turn.
"We have a GoFundMe page which highlights our funding struggles and if you wish to help our cause then please do leave us a donation to help make this event happen for our town.
"Please share this post as far as you can, tag as many people as you can, and hopefully future sponsors will be able to see this and help us pull off the largest FREE event in Teignbridge.
"Don’t forget we also have programme sponsorship available which is a great way of showing your support as a local business."
