Pedestrians and cyclists can officially use the Tamar Bridge once again.

The south cantilever has re-opened after works on the north cantilever finished earlier this week.

It is all part of a £3.8 million scheme to prevent the steel bridge deck from corroding and to ensure the safety of everyone crossing the bridge.

This means they will no longer be running the free minibus shuttle service and bus service.

Work on the final stage of the scheme, which involves working over Network Rail property, including the Gunnislake branch line, will now be carried out using local work zones.

The scheme will be completed by 18 December.
