Seven-year-old boy dies following crash in Plymstock

A seven-year-old boy has died following a crash in Plymouth.

Emergency services were called at around 11.10am yesterday (Sunday 19 February) to a report of a collision involving a car and a child pedestrian on Wembury Road, Plymstock.

The incident took place near Plymstock Albion Oaks Rugby Club.

A seven-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Police have since been informed that he has sadly died. His next of kin have been informed.

A 55-year-old man from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He remains in police custody at this time.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam footage or any information which may assist police enquiries is asked to report it online quoting log 331 of 19 February.
