It's after a group of parents were spotted taking children out paddle boarding in foggy conditions this weekend

Parents are being accused of being 'irresponsible and thoughtless', after being spotted out on paddle boards in foggy conditions.

Children were photographed without lifejackets out on the water in Plymouth this weekend.

Local group, The Making Waves Together Project, are asking people to 'think, be safe and be thoughtful of the emergency services'.

They also added: "We are not the fun police, but we are instructors, lifeguards, qualified in knowing when is safe and when is reckless."

Current Government advice means you should minimise time spent outside your home, but you can leave to exercise. This should be limited to once per day and you should not travel outside your local area.

The rules state you can exercise in a public outdoor place:

  • By yourself
  • With the people you live with
  • With your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one)
  • In a childcare bubble when providing childcare
  • When on your own, with one person from another household

This includes but is not limited to: running, cycling, walking, and swimming.

Public outdoor places include:

  • Parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, forests
  • Public gardens (whether or not you pay to enter them)
  • The grounds of a heritage site
  • Playgrounds

Meanwhile, stricter lockdown rules could be on the way - with record numbers of patients being treated in hospital with Covid-19.

Newspaper reports suggest people in England could be banned from meeting and exercising with those they don't live with.
