Police update after urgent medical incident near Dawlish

RNLI lifeboat and volunteer crews have been called out to an urgent medical incident over the weekend.
It happened on Saturday afternoon near Dawlish - with the multi agency rescue involving the air ambulance and coastguard units.
On social media, the team have offered their thoughts and sincere condolences to the family and friends of the individual involved.
In an update, Avon and Somerset Police said: "Police were notified at around 2.30pm on Saturday 13 July to reports of a concern of welfare of a woman who had fallen from the sea wall on a mobility scooter at Lady’s Mile, Dawlish.
"Emergency services attended the scene, and the road was closed while multiple agencies assisted.
"The woman, who was in her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and her next of kin are aware.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file was prepared for the coroner."
In an update over the weekend, RNLI Exmouth said: "Both Exmouth RNLI Lifeboats and volunteer crews launched to an urgent medical incident.
"At 14.09 on Saturday afternoon, H.M. Coastguard requested the launch of both lifeboats to assist Devon Air Ambulance, SWAST, Dawlish and Torbay Coastguard Rescue units with a multi-agency medical incident near Dawlish.
"The Exmouth RNLI ILB D-805 George Bearman II launched at 14.17, followed shortly after by the Exmouth All Weather Lifeboat, R&J Welburn.
"Our volunteer crews arrived on scene shortly after launching and provided additional support to the on-scene HEMS Doctor & Paramedic, who had been dropped to the scene by the Air Ambulance helicopter, and local Coastguard Rescue colleagues.
"Our volunteer crews remained on scene until they were stood down by H.M Coastguard at around 16.00. They then returned to station to prepare our lifeboats for their next service.
"Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of the individual involved in the incident."
