Police have named the victim of a murder investigation, which is taking place in Wembury.

Officers say 60-year-old Stephen Fogg was from the village and are appealing for anyone who knew Stephen, or saw or spoke to him in the days leading up to 17 December, to come forward.

This enquiry is being led by the force's Major Crime Investigation Team, which is pursuing many active lines of enquiry.

Officers and paramedics were called around 10.15am on Thursday 17 December following concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Hawthorn Drive.

On arrival officers found the man deceased at the scene.

This is being treated as an isolated incident and there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public in the Wembury area.

The public will continue to see an increased level of police activity in the area, as would be expected in such a serious matter.
