A Plymouth man has been sentenced to life in prison for 10 counts of arson.

56-year-old Charles Spreat was found guilty at Plymouth Crown Court on Saturday (12 December).

He was caught in March this year after setting a police 'bait' van alight.

His repeated attacks on one family saw him cause more than £100,000 worth of damage over the years, forcing them to move out of their home and the city.

He must serve a minimum term of 5 years and 337 days.
