Local MP Luke Pollard has secured it for Wednesday night to discuss what funding is needed in the short and long-term to help of all those affected and the wider community.

The MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport said: "A month has passed from the mass shooting in Keyham and the community is slowly coming to terms with the loss and tragedy of 12 August.

"Our community deserves long-term support, especially for the children to process and understand what they have experienced.

"The bid for funding to the Government has seen Plymouth’s civic leaders working together, just as the community has come together. I’ve been holding face to face meetings with Ministers to make the case for support for Keyham.

“The rules around guns need to change, we need better funding for mental health, and we need a clear plan to tackle the rotten underbelly of the internet.

"Keyham’s voice will be heard in those policy debates, but my priority as Keyham’s MP is to make sure our community gets the funding we need.

“It’s OK not to be OK and everyone will process what happened on 12 August in a different way. Help is available and as a city we will not leave anyone behind because of Keyham.”

The debate will formally raise the request from the city of Plymouth for funding to support the immediate and long-term needs of the Keyham community.

Working cross-party Luke Pollard MP, the city council, local councillors, the NHS, police and the community have prepared a funding bid for ministers to consider.

The MP says discussions with the Government at ministerial level have been 'constructive' and he hopes that this debate will help secure extra support.
