Central Park is getting a new sculpture!

'Ode to Elm' has been created by The Woodland Presents, using Sapporo Autumn Gold elm trees that once stood in the park but fell in a storm.

It was commissioned in 2018 and will be installed near Pounds House this week - it should be ready for unveiling by the end of the month.

It will be the latest part of the sculpture trail that leads through the woods and into the gardens near Pounds House.

The sculpture celebrates Sapporo Autumn Gold elm trees, that resist Dutch elm disease and are homes for the protected white-letter hairstreak butterflies.
