The new 'Dementia Friendly Sidmouth' group launches this weekend - offering a 'virtual, interactive, dementia experience' for people to try.

The group has been created by volunteers to raise awareness in the Sid Valley 'in order to improve the lives of those living with dementia and their families or carers'.

In Sidmouth, over half of the town’s population is over 60 and the group believe the number of people living with dementia is significantly above the national average.

Nationally one in three will be diagnosed with the condition.
