More support in Devon for growing numbers of men needing to talk
Following a rise in members and referrals, Andy's Man Club has opened a new bigger venue for men in Devon struggling with their mental health.
There's already groups in Newton Abbot, Plymouth and Torbay and the Exeter group is now moving back to St James’ Park after two years away.
Andy's Man Clubs started following the death of a 23 year old Andy Roberts - whose family didn't realise he was struggling when he took his own life.
The group say on average, every two hours, a man takes his life in the UK, adding: "It’s often said a factor is that men don’t talk.

"That is why we were born to break down these stigmas, support men struggling with mental health issues and lend a hand to suicide prevention.
"We are talking groups for men who have either been through a storm, are currently going through a storm or have a storm brewing in life."
Chris Weekes, who is behind the Exeter club, which has just opened at St James' Park, said: "Andy's Man Club Exeter is synonymous with the stadium and we would like to thank our partners at Exeter City Football Club for their support in allowing us to re-open at St James’ Park.
"It will continue on every Monday night excluding Bank Holidays for the foreseeable future and we'd would like to thank The Exe Water Sports Association for their support to keep the group open throughout the pandemic."
Andy's Man Club is also looking at opening another east Devon-based club in the future and potentially one in north Devon. Chris says often members who attended one club may decide to establish another in a different area where they believe there's a need.
Those unable to attend a Monday night session can also tune in to a web-only club.
