Ex-marine Mark Ormrod MBE says criminals stole his prosthetic legs in car break-in

Triple amputee and ex-marine Mark Ormrod MBE has had his prosthetic legs stolen.
His car, parked in a disabled space, was broken into last night (9th January 2023).
The criminals also stole his gym bag.
Despite having three cameras pointed at the car, Mark has since been told a larger vehicle blocked the view, leaving Mark without footage of the event.
"The sad thing is to think that someone would break into a car parked in a disabled parking space and steal equipment someone needs to live independently and not even care," Mark said, in an online post.
The veteran is also an athlete and has competed at the Invictus Games for Great Britain.
He took to twitter to vent his frustration.
"Not the best start to my day! Had my car broken into last night.
"They stole a bag full of sweaty gym cloths, another bag with my JiuJitsu Gi in and whatâs really inconvenient is they took a set of my prosthetic legs!
"Despite having 3 cameras pointing at my car I was told by the staff at the hotel that they couldnât see any activity as the view to my car was blocked by another car."
The post sparked fury in the comments - one person posted: "The mind boggles. Do they not know that prosthetic legs are tailored to the person they are made for?"
Others described the crime as "horrendous", "awful" and "shocking".
