Man suffers serious face injuries in unprovoked assault in Plymouth

Police are trying to find two men following the incident in St Budeaux

Detectives are seeking witnesses to an unprovoked assault in Plymouth which left a man with serious facial injuries.

The man was walking home when he was approached by two unknown men in Trelawney Avenue, St Budeaux.

He was repeatedly punched and possibly hit with an unknown object.

The victim, in his 40s and from Plymouth, sustained facial fractures and cuts and required hospital treatment.

Officers are investigating the incident which happened between 11.00pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday 20 December.

They are seeking two male suspects. One is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, of large build, and wearing a black coat. The second man was also white, between 6ft and 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build, and was wearing a grey hoodie.

Detectives are also hoping to trace two people who were on nearby Colebrook Road and tried to help the victim. They may hold information which can assist with police enquiries.
