Man injured after serious assault in Paignton

A man has suffered potentially life changing injuries after a serious assault in Paignton.

Officers were called to Torbay Road at around 6.20pm on Friday 16 June where a weapon was seized following reports of an assault.

It was reported that a man had been assaulted with a bladed weapon and sustained a neck injury.

The 50 year old victim was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries are believed to be potentially life changing.

A 29-year-old man from Torbay was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is in police custody.

A scene guard was put in place during the evening whilst officers carried out enquiries at the scene.
