Man suffers significant injuries following assault in Plymouth

Five men have been arrested and bailed

A man has suffered significant injuries following a serious assault in Plymouth.

The incident happened in the Central Park Avenue area at around 3.35pm, on Thursday 5th May.

It is thought that a man in his 20s was chased from the Pennycomequick roundabout area, with an altercation taking place on Pennycomequick Hill, near Plymouth railway station.

A man was taken to hospital and treated for injuries to his back, hands and feet.

Police have only just released the information and are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

A Devon & Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Five men, aged between 26 and 40, from the Plymouth and Redruth areas, have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail to return on Friday 10th June.

"Police are investigating the altercation and are appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage."
