Police investigating a reported assault in Plymouth in the early hours of Saturday 15 January are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

It was reported that a man tried to intervene in a fight outside Club R&R in Union Street and was attacked by several men.

The victim, aged in his 30s, sustained cuts and bruises and was treated in hospital.

The incident happened between around 4.00am and 4.20am.

Three men are being sought in connection with the incident.

One of the men is described as a white male, aged between 25 and 30, of slim to average build with a shaven bald head and full but short beard. He was around 5ft 9in tall.

He had tattoos on both sides of his face around the outer eye area, as well as a tattoo of a pair of red lips on the right side of his neck and a sleeve of tattoos on his right arm.

He also had a hole in his right ear lobe which suggested that he had worn a stretcher at some time.

A second man was described as a black male, aged 25 to 30, 6ft tall, of slim build with long, black hair. He was clean shaven and had what was described as a West Indian accent.

A third man was described as a white male, aged 25 to 30, 6ft tall and of a quite stocky build with short, light brown/blond hair.

Police would also like to trace a woman who intervened, who was described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of biggish build with quite long, reddish hair.
