Military children in Plymouth come together to explore the unique challenges they face
The charity Little Troopers are running a series of virtual workshops across England over the next two weeks
Military children in Plymouth are exploring the unique challenges they face as members of the British Armed Forces community through virtual workshops.
It is thanks to the charity Little Troopers, who are delivering them across the country over the next two weeks.
Their virtual roadshow is coming to 200 schools across England, with more than 3,000 children taking part.
Yesterday 160 children from four primary schools in Plymouth took part, as well as another five schools across Devon.
"Our Little Troopers at School project has been running for four years now and we were truly hoping that we could come and meet some of the teachers and children who have been using our resources. However, as with many things over the last year, we have had to make alternative plans. The new virtual programme has allowed us to host double the amount of workshops and open the experiences up to lots more military children."
Louise Fetigan - Founder of Little Troopers
The free two-hour live workshop will be delivered by an experienced team of facilitators using Little Troopers’ primary school resources incorporating storytelling, movement, group discussion and drama.
The activities are designed to encourage military children to feel proud of their identity as a forces child and to give schools the tools to help service children navigate any challenges they might face, either now or in the future.
