Horse rescued from North Devon pond

Fire crews spent two hours trying to free the horse

Fire crews in North Devon have helped rescue a horse from a pond.

Devon and Somerset's Fire Service were called to the West Anstey area at 11:09am on Saturday.

One crew from South Molton, and an animal rescue team from Barnstaple, were called to the pond.

A rope and telehandler were used to rescue the horse, which eventually managed to free itself.

The incident was stood down at 1:16pm.
