A local café that was slammed with multiple fines last week for breaking lockdown restrictions has had a GoFundMe set up for them in order to raise the money to pay it off.

Organisers of the campaign say Finla Coffee in Plympton have been subjected to a 'campaign of harassment, intimidation and abuse'.

The venue was spotted serving customers inside and outside its shop last week, which is not allowed under new lockdown rules.

From last Thursday (5 November) all hospitality venues were ordered to close, with certain exceptions - such as if they were offering a takeaway service.

On the first occasion Finla were ordered to pay £200, but after they were caught continuing to break the rules again the following day, they were issued with a fixed penalty notice of £1,000.

This did not deter them however, and they remained open for business again the next day. They were then given another fixed penalty notice of £2,000.

The GoFundMe has been set up by supporters of Finla Coffee, who say that 'the owners have not asked for this to be done'.
