Funds to be raised for family of Exeter dad
Torquay United FC are hosting an auction next month
A Devon football club are raising money for the family of an Exeter dad.
31-year-old Jordan Wyatt was found dead earlier this month after being reported missing.
Torquay United are hosting an auction in Boots & Laces on Friday 21 July from 7.00pm, with all funds raised benefitting his two children.
Jordan has close ties with the club, with his sister Danni being the captain of Torquay United Women and their HerGameToo Ambassador, as well as his dad Alan being the Head Coach of the women's team.
Torquay United FC said: "Although our sympathies are extended to all of Jordan’s family and friends, the Club’s thoughts are particularly with his two young children at this very sad and difficult time.
"After consultation with the Wyatt family, it has therefore been decided that all monies raised at this event will go directly towards safeguarding their future, with the funds paid into a Trust, from which they can both benefit."
A funeral will take place for Jordan at Torquay Crematorium tomorrow (Wednesday 21 June) at 3.00pm. It will be followed by a celebration of his life at Boots & Laces.
Jordan's family have extended an open invitation for anyone that wishes to attend.
For the funeral, they have requested that Jordan’s security colleagues attend in their uniform, whilst all others in attendance are requested to include a splash of Royal Blue within their attire, representing the other footballing love that runs within the Wyatt family – Chelsea FC.
