A section of Forder Valley Road has been closed again, following its reopening on Wednesday (2 March).

The stretch between Novorossiysk Road and Fort Austin Avenue had previously been shut while major work took place to relocate and rebuild the Forder Valley Road/Novorossiysk Road junction in preparation for the new Forder Valley Link Road.

Temporary three-way traffic lights were put in place on the junction at the bottom of the hill.

Plymouth City Council say they 'miscalculated' the effect of the lights, which led to queues stretching right back onto the A38 - putting pressure on other major junctions in the city.

The authority say they are 'keen' to put it right, so they will be closing Forder Valley West from this morning (Friday 4 March) and ditching the traffic lights for the time being.

They will now look at how they can safely reopen the road again and have apologised for the problems caused.
