Firefighters have been tackling a moorland fire in Devon.

They were called to Nattadon common near Chagford yesterday evening.

It's believed to be accidental and crews have left the scene.

In an update, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Fire control received multiple calls to a fire on Nattadon common.

"On arrival crews confirmed one fire front measuring 25 metres, second fire front measuring 15 and third fire front measuring 100 metres.

"Crews requested a further three resources to assist with extinguishing the fire.

"One 4x4 vehicle from Okehampton was mobilised for access along with crews from Chagford and Bovey Tracey."

Crews used beaters and scotty packs to help douse the flames.

In total, eleven hectares of fern, bracken and gorse have now been extinguished and are monitoring for hotspots.

The fire is believed to be accidental.
