Fire crews called to blaze at Princess Yachts site in Lee Mill

Staff were evacuated this morning

A fire has broken out at the Princess Yachts site in Lee Mill.

Crews were called to the scene shortly after 10.00am this morning. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance have been tackling the blaze.

Staff were evacuated from the building. It is understood that the fire has been extinguished.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We have been attending a fire in duct work at a building on the Lee Mill Industrial Estate. We were called at 10.02 and four fire appliances plus an aerial appliance attended.

"Crews have been tackling the fire in breathing apparatus with jets and ventilation fans. The fire is now believed to be out and we have reduced the number of breathing apparatus wearers."
