Tractors stage city centre demo as farmers take to loud hailers to voice concerns
Today's demo was part of a national day of action ahead of this week's Spring Statement

Farmers - armed with loudhalers - today parked up tractors outside Exeter's Civic Centre and also near to the pier at Weston-super-Mare.
They're calling for a U-turn on new inheritance tax changes, ahead of Wednesday's Spring Statement, as well as for farmers to stop being squeezed by food retailers.
The so-called “National Say No To The Government Day” has seen a number of demos across the country, with the Farmers To Action group saying in a joint statement: "We are not just campaigning for farmers, we are fighting for everyone, which is why we say end the death tax, abolish inheritance tax for all, a fair price for farmers, a fair price for all."
In response, a Government spokesperson said: “Our commitment to farmers remains steadfast. That’s why this Government is investing £5 billion into farming, the largest budget for sustainable food production in our country’s history, and are going further with reforms to boost profits for farmers by backing British produce and reforming planning rules on farms to support food production.
“Our reform to Agricultural and Business Property Reliefs will mean three quarters of estates will continue to pay no inheritance tax at all, while the remaining quarter will pay half the inheritance tax that most people pay, and payments can be spread over 10 years, interest-free. This is a fair and balanced approach which helps fix the public services we all rely on.”
