Devon and Cornwall Police are looking for a new police dog and are asking for the public's help.

The force wants a Spaniel, that's about two years old, to train with them and join the 'policing family'.

The dog would help to detect drugs, cash and even firearms.

In a post on Facebook the force wrote:

"Can you help? We are looking for a new police dog!

"Do you know of a Spaniel dog that loves to seek out their favourite toy and who would make a great police search dog?

"Police dogs are an important part of our investigation work. We are looking for a dog that is about one or two years old to come train with us and join the policing family.

"If selected, the dog would live with a police dog handler full time and work shifts detecting drugs, cash and firearms.

"The course starts on Monday 8 March 2021 so please get in touch as soon as possible.
