Death of man in Plympton no longer being treated as murder

The unexplained death of a man in Plympton is no longer being treated as murder.

Two people were arrested in connection with his death, but they have since been released with no further action to be taken.

His next-of-kin have been informed - and his death is currently being treated as non-suspicious and unexplained.

The 43-year-old was declared deceased as emergency services arrived at the scene on Saturday morning (17 April).

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police have confirmed they are no longer treating the death of a man in Plympton on Saturday 17 April, as murder.

"A 43-year-old man was declared deceased upon the arrival of emergency services, at an address on Moorland Road, shortly after 6am.

"The two people – a man in his 70s and a woman in her 40s – who were arrested in connection with the death, have been released with no further action to be taken.

"The man’s next-of-kin have been informed. His death is currently being treated as non-suspicious and unexplained."
