A church service is being held today (Wednesday 18 August) to remember those who lost their lives in the Keyham tragedy last week.

The Bishop of Plymouth, the Right Reverend Nick McKinnel will be leading the service at 10.30am at the Minister Church, of St Andrews, Royal Parade, Plymouth, PL1 2AD.

The service will include readings and prayers led by representatives of the Keyham community and civic and local religious leaders.

"My hope is that this service will give the opportunity for those of us from across the city to stand with the people of Keyham in expressing our shock and sadness at the events of last Thursday, and to have time and space for prayer and reflection in the aftermath of this tragedy."

Residents from across Plymouth are invited to attend the service in person or online in order to join together for a time of reflection and prayer for the victims, their families, friends and the wider Keyham community.

Space inside the Church is limited but there will be big screens set-up outside to enable as many people as possible to attend.

The service will be also be livestreamed online at: www.youtube.com/user/plymouthcitycouncil

During the service, candles will be lit to remember each of the five victims and those watching outside or online will also be invited to also light a candle or lay flowers.
