Police in Plymouth on the hunt for two men after stolen car was found on fire

It was also seen driving "erratically" on Tavistock Road towards Derriford Roundabout

Police are trying to find two men after a car was stolen and found up in flames in Plymouth.

It was taken from Elphinstone Road yesterday morning (29 June), but was later found in a car park on Crownhill Road.

Before this it was seen driving "erratically" on Tavistock Road towards Derriford Roundabout.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police are investigating the theft of a car from Elphinstone Road, Plymouth, at around 8am yesterday morning, Tuesday 29 June.

"Police located the vehicle, a silver Honda Civic, on fire in a car park on Crownhill Road having previously been seen driving erratically on Tavistock Road towards Derriford Roundabout, at around 8.30am.

"There are two male suspects.

"One of the suspects is described as a white male, in his early 30s and of stocky build, wearing a black baseball cap, a yellow and red high vis jacket and dark trousers. He was carrying a tool bag with a metal handle.

"The other suspect is described as a white male, in his early 30s, wearing a black baseball cap and black rain jacket with a red stripe. He walked with a limp."

Anyone who was in these areas at the time and saw either suspect, or has dashcam or CCTV footage which may have captured the suspects, is asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/053948/21.
