Six boats and two cars "severely damaged" in suspected arson in Plymouth

The incident has been left in the hands of police

Police are investigating a suspected arson in Plymouth.

Fire crews were called to Wolseley Road in the early hours of this morning (17 June), with reports of multiple boats alight.

Two cars were also severely damaged in the process.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire said:

"Fire Engines from Camels Head, Crownhill and Greenbank attended the slipway on Wolseley Road following reports of multiple Boats on fire.

"6 Breathing Apparatus, 1 Foam Jet and 1 Hose Reel Jet were used by crews to extinguish the fires, resulting in 6 private motor craft and 2 private vehicles being severely damaged.

"Crews left the incident in the hands of Police due to arson being suspected."
