Arrests made and man in serious condition in hospital after serious assault in Plymouth
Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for information following the incident on Sunday (May 28)
A man in his 40s remains in a serious condition in hospital following an incident in Plymouth over the weekend.
Police say the reported serious assault happened in Stoke Village on Sunday (May 28) and are now appealing for witnesses.
Officers were called to the scene at just before 01:15 on Sunday morning, where they found a man seriously injured.
He was rushed to Derriford Hospital.
Two men in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of occasioning actual bodily harm, a 28-year-old man from Plymouth has been released on bail, and a 25-year-old man from Plymouth remains in police custody.
The 28-year-old is to return to the police on August 16.
T/Detective Inspector Esther Gould, leading the investigation, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has any information to come forward.
“There are likely to have been a number of people in the vicinity and in the bars and restaurants that evening, and we would be keen to hear from any members of the public who may be able to assist us with the investigation.
“I would urge you not to speculate on social media but if you have any information which may assist us, please report it.”
