A38 police incident: Man arrested in Plymouth after car lands on roof

Police have arrested a man in his 20s after a car has landed on its roof in Plymouth.

Officers were called to the A38 at St Budeaux this morning (17 June).

The westbound carriageway of the road was closed for a number of hours, but has since reopened.

The suspect was taken to hospital and has since been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were called at around 4.30am this morning with a report that a car was on its roof on the A38 at St Budeaux, Plymouth.

"A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with a suspected non-life-threatening head injury and arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent.

"The vehicle was recovered and re-opened at around 8am."
