Police have confirmed that a driver has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A38, The Parkway.

The road was closed for a short period of time earlier, as emergency services dealt with the incident.

Traffic was seen queuing in the area. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police provided us with this statement at the time:

"We received reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A38, Plymouth, at around 8.30am.

"Fire and ambulance services have also attended and a closure is in place on the on-slip from Leigham onto the A38.

"One driver is in the care of paramedics and will be taken to hospital. The extent of any injuries not currently known."

Soon after the road cleared, travel monitoring service INRIX reported another unrelated crash: "Reports of queueing traffic due to accident on A38 The Parkway on B3413 Forder Valley Road (Forder Valley Interchange). On the roundabout.

"This is not related to the earlier accident on the A38 itself."

But all lanes have since reopened, with INRIX reporting: "Slow traffic due to earlier accident on A38 The Parkway on B3413 Forder Valley Road (Forder Valley Interchange). All lanes have been re-opened."
