21-year-old man dies following crash in Plymouth

It happened on Embankment Road over the weekend

Police investigating a fatal road traffic crash in Plymouth at the weekend are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a green Lexus saloon car on Embankment Road, at around 2.10am, on Saturday (7 January).

As a result of the crash, the car driver, a 21-year-old man from Plymouth, sustained serious injuries. He later died in hospital. His next of kin have been informed.

Embankment Road out of the city was closed while officers from the Roads Policing Team carried out a forensic examination of the scene. The road re-opened at around 1.45pm on Saturday.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. They would particularly like to hear from anyone with dash cam footage of the vehicle prior to the collision.
