Woman killed in Oxford crash as driver of other vehicle in serious condition

The 70-year-old was driving a Range Rover which collided with a recovery truck

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash on the A361 between Burford and Lechlade.

At around 3.22pm yesterday (26/6) there was a collision involving a Range Rover and a Vauxhall recovery truck.

The driver of the Range Rover, a woman in her 70s from Oxon, was given emergency medical treatment, but sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the recovery truck, a man in his 20s from Oxon, has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Investigating officer PC Harry Welch of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: “An investigation into this incident in which a woman has sadly died and a man remains seriously injured is underway.

“Our thoughts are with the families of those involved at this difficult time.

“We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage that may assist our enquiries to please contact us on 101 or via our online reporting form, quoting reference 43250318623.”
